Solar Panel Installation in Irving

We design a solar system around how your home actually uses power, then install it, pull the permits and handle the utility paperwork. You get a clear plan before any work starts and a crew that treats your property the way we'd want ours treated.

Two installers in safety harnesses carry a black solar panel across rails on a shingle roof of a brick home, with several panels already installed and a ladder at the eave

Solar that fits your home and your bills

A good solar installation starts with your electric bills, not a sales script. We look at twelve months of usage, the direction your roof faces and what shades it, then size a system that covers a sensible share of your power. Bigger isn't always better. An oversized system can send cheap power back to the grid while you paid full price for the panels.

Long North Texas summers mean heavy air conditioning loads, so most homes here use the most power exactly when the sun is strongest. That timing is what makes solar worth a close look. We'll tell you plainly if your roof, shade or usage makes it a weak fit, the same way a neighbor would.

What your installation includes

Site visit and roof check

We measure your roof, note its age and condition, and check shading from trees and nearby structures. If the roof is close to needing replacement, we tell you before you commit, so your roofer can handle it first and the panels don't have to come off later.

System design and written estimate

You get a layout showing where each panel goes, the equipment we plan to use and a line-by-line estimate. We explain the difference between string inverters and microinverters and which suits your roof.

Electrical panel review

We check whether your main service panel can take the new solar breaker. If it needs an upgrade, that shows up in the estimate from the start, not as a surprise on install day.

Permits and utility paperwork

We file the city building and electrical permits and the interconnection application with your utility. We also schedule the inspection and follow up until you have permission to turn the system on.

Installation and startup

Our crew mounts the racking, seals every roof penetration, sets the panels and wires the inverter. Once you're approved, we start the system and set up monitoring on your phone.

Walkthrough and cleanup

Before we leave, we show you the disconnect, the monitoring app and what normal output looks like. Packaging, wire scraps and debris leave with us.

Signs solar panel installation is worth a look

  • Summer bills keep climbing

If your July and August bills are the ones that sting, solar produces most when you use the most. That match is where the savings come from.

  • Your roof gets steady sun

South- and west-facing roof planes with little shade from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tend to produce well. East-facing roofs can still work with the right layout.

  • Your roof has years left

A roof with plenty of life ahead is the best time to add panels. It saves the cost of removing and reinstalling them for a reroof.

  • You plan to stay a while

Solar pays back over years, not months. If you expect to be in your home for the long run, the numbers usually look better.

  • You want backup power later

Installing solar now with a battery-ready inverter makes adding Battery Storage simpler down the road.

How the work goes, start to finish

  1. 1

    A phone conversation

We talk about your bills, your roof and what you hope solar will do for you. If it sounds like a fit, we set a time to visit.

  2. 2

    Visit and design

We walk the property, look at your electrical panel and photograph the roof. A few days later you get a design and a written estimate to review at your own pace.

  3. 3

    Permits and approvals

Once you give us the go-ahead, we take care of the permit applications and the utility paperwork. This step often takes longer than the install itself, and we call to keep you updated so you're never guessing.

  4. 4

    Install day

Most homes take one to three days on the roof. Power stays on for most of the job, with a short shutoff when we tie into your panel, and we tell you when it's coming.

  5. 5

    Inspection and turn-on

After the city inspection and utility approval, we start the system, confirm it's producing and walk you through monitoring.

What affects the cost of your system

Every home gets its own price, because roofs, usage and electrical setups vary a lot. Your written estimate lists each part of the job so you can see where the money goes. Here's what moves the number most.

System size
The number of panels follows from your usage and how much of it you want to cover. More panels mean more equipment and labor.
Roof layout and pitch
Steep roofs, several small planes or a two-story home need more safety setup and time. Simple, open roof planes cost less to work on.
Equipment choice
Panel efficiency and inverter type change the price. Microinverters cost more up front but handle partial shade better.
Electrical upgrades
An older or full main panel may need an upgrade before solar can connect. We check this at the visit so it's priced from day one.
Permits and utility fees
City permit and interconnection costs are part of the job. We include them in the estimate instead of adding them later.

Solar panel installation questions

Something not covered here? (972) 954-1315

Will panels hold up to North Texas hail?

Most quality panels are tested against hail impacts, and we'll show you the rating for the model we recommend. Severe storms can still cause damage. If that happens, our Solar Repair service can inspect the array and replace what's broken.

Does my HOA have to approve solar?

Texas law limits HOAs from banning rooftop solar, but many still ask to review the plans. We prepare the layout drawings your HOA asks to see and adjust panel placement if they have reasonable requests.

What happens to extra power my panels make?

Extra power flows back to the grid. In much of the Irving area you choose your retail electric provider, and some offer buyback plans for solar homes. We explain how those plans generally work so you can compare them with your provider.

Will installing panels damage my roof?

Each mount is fastened into the rafters and sealed with flashing designed for your roof type. We photograph the work before panels go over it so you can see how it was done.

How long until the system is running?

The physical install is usually a few days. Permits, inspection and utility approval add several weeks, and we handle the follow-up so you aren't chasing anyone.

Do I need to clean the panels?

Rain handles a lot of it, but dust and pollen can build up during dry stretches. If output drops, our Panel Cleaning service can bring it back.
