Solar Panel Cleaning in Irving
Dust, pollen and bird droppings build up on your panels and quietly cut what they produce. We clean them with purified water and soft brushes, check the array for trouble while we're up there, and leave your yard the way we found it.

Clean glass, a closer look, and no harm done
Panel cleaning sounds simple, and it is easy to get wrong. A pressure washer can push water past the seals, hard tap water dries into spots that block light, and scrubbing pads scratch the coating on the glass. We use deionized water fed through a soft brush pole, so the panels dry clear with no soap and no film left behind.
A dry North Texas stretch can leave a gray layer of dust and spring pollen that a quick shower only smears around. Panels set at a low tilt hold that grime along the bottom edge, which is right where the cells start to lose light first. Cleaning is the right call when your monitoring app shows output slipping on sunny days, or when you can see the buildup from your driveway.
We treat your home the way we'd want a neighbor to treat ours. That includes telling you plainly when your panels don't need cleaning yet.

What a cleaning visit covers
- 01
Pure-water, soft-brush wash
Every panel gets washed with deionized water and a soft-bristle brush. Purified water carries no minerals, so it dries without spots and doesn't need a squeegee or detergent.
- 02
Droppings and sap lifted, not scraped
Bird droppings bake hard in the Texas sun. We soak them until they release and lift them off gently, which protects the glass coating that helps your panels catch light.
- 03
A visual check of the array
While we clean, we look for cracked glass, discolored cells, loose clips and wires sagging under the panels. If we spot something, we take a photo so you can see it yourself.
- 04
A look for nesting and debris
Pigeons and squirrels like the shaded gap under a solar array. We tell you if we see nesting or chewed wiring, and we clear loose leaves and twigs we can reach from the panel edges.
- 05
Before-and-after photos
You get pictures of the panels before and after, plus anything worth watching. Most people check their monitoring app over the next few sunny days to see the difference.
Questions about Panel Cleaning?
Call(972) 954-1315Signs your panels are due for a cleaning
Lower output on clear days
If your app shows less production than the same sunny weeks last year, dirt is one of the first things to rule out. It's cheaper to check than to guess.
A film you can see from the ground
When the panels look hazy, streaked or dull from your yard, there's usually a lot more grime up close.
Droppings or birds hanging around
Even a few droppings shade the cells beneath them. Birds perching on the roof edge often mean nesting under the panels too.
Pollen or leaves along the bottom edge
Debris collects where the frame meets the glass. On low-tilt panels it can sit there for months and keep building.
Nearby construction or a dusty season
New builds, road work and long dry spells all coat panels quickly. A cleaning afterward puts you back where you started.
How a cleaning visit goes
- 1
A quick conversation by phone
You tell us roughly how many panels you have, whether the house is one or two stories, and what you've noticed. We set a time, usually early morning, when the glass is cool.
- 2
Arrival and setup
We place ladders carefully, keep clear of your plants and flower beds, and follow your panel maker's guidance before we start. Cool glass matters, because cold water on sun-hot panels can stress them.
- 3
Cleaning and inspection
We wash each row, work the stubborn spots by hand, and look the array over as we go. We stay off the panels themselves and work from safe footing.
- 4
Walkthrough and photos
Before we leave, we show you the photos and explain anything we found. If something needs fixing, we'll explain what our solar repair work would involve, and the decision is yours with no pressure.
What affects the cost of a cleaning
Panel cleaning is priced by the job, not by a one-size rate. We ask a few questions on the phone so you know what to expect before we come out. These are the things that move the price most.
- How many panels you have
- A small array takes far less time than a large one spread across the roof. Panel count is the biggest single factor.
- Roof height and pitch
- Two-story homes and steep roofs need more ladder work and more care with footing, which adds time.
- How much buildup there is
- A light dust layer rinses off quickly. Baked-on droppings, sap or a year or more of grime take longer to lift safely.
- Layout and access
- Panels split across several roof faces, or tucked near overhanging trees, take more setup than one tidy row.
Panel cleaning questions
How often should my panels be cleaned?
For most homes, once or twice a year is plenty. If you have big trees overhead, a lot of birds, or construction nearby, you may want it more often. We'll tell you honestly what your panels need after we see them.
Doesn't rain clean them on its own?
A heavy rain helps, but light showers often just move the dust around and leave a muddy film as they dry. Droppings and baked-on pollen usually stay put. Rain is a rinse, not a wash.
Can I hose the panels off myself?
You can, but there are good reasons to be careful. Climbing a roof is risky, tap water can leave mineral spots, and spraying cold water on hot glass isn't kind to the panels. If you do it yourself, stay on the ground, use a gentle spray and go early in the morning.
Will cleaning affect my panel manufacturer's warranty?
We stick to the methods panel makers generally recommend: soft brushes, purified water and no high pressure or harsh chemicals. If you have your manufacturer's care guide, share it with us and we'll follow it.
Do you clean panels you didn't install?
Yes. We clean systems no matter who put them up, from Irving out to Coppell and Grand Prairie. The method is the same, and the visual check is just as useful.
Do I need to be home during the visit?
Not necessarily. As long as we can reach the side yard and roof safely, we can do the work and go over the photos with you by phone afterward. Many people like to be there for the walkthrough, and that's welcome too.
